"Scooby dooby doo where are you ?
We got some work to do now !"
the words i sang so loud and proud every 30 minutes of the day
the part of this theme i admired most
the on song i felt lifted me
"Scooby dooby doo where are you?"
those words in my mind all day long
i sang and sang and sang and sang and sang
"Scooby dooby do where are you "
Where did he go?
he is gone
now his places in my heart is filled with hanging out and rap and pop
where has he gone?
AWAY far in where the children play
he is no longer in my section
I am no longer that little tom boy that loved adventures and SCOOBY DOO
I now love parties and hanging out ...
so where has he gone?
away
away
far far away

Independent Reading Book: Thou Shall Not Dump the Skater Dude
My independent reading book is about a girl. This girl is 13 years old and has to move to california. This girl has been living in virginia ever since she was born . Now her mother is making her move so she can live her dream, being a lawyer. But the main character doesnt like this because she feels that her mom isnt thinking about her feelings. But her mom told her that she gave up her dream before because she had to have her . But the main character took it the wrong way, she started thinking things like , "then why did she even have me?"
I can understand why she would think that though. In the book it makes it sound like the mother IS trying to tell her that its all her fault . But i know she doesnt mean it like that. The main character feels like her life is going to turn upside down because she is in the middle of eighth grade and now she has to move to a school with totally different people.
But it turns out when she moves it isnt so bad , she makes friends right away an soon finds a cute boy <3. As the year went on she found out that, that same cute kid likes her too. They end up being together as "boyfriend and girlfriend". Everything is fine untill....... their relationship starts to hit a bumpy road. Now she is starting to feel like she should move back to california.
I can understand how she feels because i would be upset to move out of the country in the middle of eighth grade too because i already have my friends and know everybody and know what to do. By her moving she has to start a TOTALLY different life and has to meet with TOTALLY different people. If i was her i would just go along with everything and make myself as comfortable as possible. Now about the " skater dude" i think that if their relationship is hitting a bumpy road then she should just dump him because she has enough drama as it is . New place , new job and new....... PEOPLE.

Response to The Starry Night
When we first read this poem as a class i thought " wow this persons a phsyco" . It turns out the person was infact in a crazy home. But other than seeing that, I also started to see a picture in my head. The picture was stars in a dark sky with a moon poking out from the corner. Then i started to see it as a literal thing , the line that says "sucked up by that great big dragon, to split" i saw a dragon painted big in the middle surrounded by the village.
It turns out i was kind of right. There was starsand there was a moon and there was a village. But that big dragon that i had seen wasnt actually a dragon; it was a black castle. From seeing the painting , the poem didnt seem the same in my head anymore. it seemed as iff everything in the painting was bad and dark. Other than before when i thought it was just a deep dark night like we have here in brooklyn.
I liked how the author used a dragon to represent the crazy home that he was in because it sort of made me feel his pain. By comparing that crazy home to a dragon , your saying that its scary, dangerous and dark. I think that was a very strong and smart way of showing his pain and fright in that place. That was a great metaphor.

Response to pride
I wrote a ppoem called "pride". this poem is based on a movie that me and my class seen in spanish class , its called "Entre Nos". this movie was about a women that was not wealthy and her husband left her wit two kids. this women struggled to get her and her kids through life but she did it and ended up successfull in the end. My poem relates to this movie in so many different ways. For example the lines
"You say im dumb?
Ill prove you wrong"
in the begining of the movie the man treated her like she was a nobody and will never be one and at the end of the movie she was somebody and she did it all on her own.
My poem is a pretty short poem but inside each and every line has a whole story to it. This film "Entre Nos" which means "Between Us" is based on a true story. That is one of the reasons why i wrote this poem. I felt strongly about this film so i decided "hey, if i write a poem it would show what i think the mother in this story is going through". I hope i showed that.

Pride
I stand strong
You ain’t puttin’ me down
You say I’m weak?
Ill move along
You say I’m dumb
Ill prove you wrong
You yell at me?
Ill yell right back
You talk bout’ me?
You just talk smack
You aint nothin’
You aint no man
Aint givin me your helpin hand
Im all alone
You just left
You stuck me with this F***ing mess!
But its all good
Im doin’ fine
I BEEN had you off my mind
I found a new
I know HE cares
Aint leavin me for no one else
Im full of pride
Its in me
You’re the one that’s empty
So how does it feel?
That constant sigh
You put me through it
So GOOD BYE
You are weak!
I stand strong
And I have moved far
Far
FAR ALONG

Opposites
I’m Fat
Short
Goofy
And UN popular
My socks don’t match
My pony tails to the side
Medal surrounds my mouth
I may have my flaws and I let them show
I’m simply me, and I ’ma let them know
I’m Slim
Tall
Sophisticated
Popular
My clothes are designer
My hair is long and silky
Whiteness glistens as I smile
I may have my flaws but I don’t let them show
That side of me, I refuse to let them know
