 Once upon a time there was a girl named Ashiebah. Ashiebah was a 9 years old muslim girl. She was quiet and didn’t talk to many people, she loves to read and doesn’t like to speak outloud.  Ashiebah went to a public elementary school. Ashiebah didn’t have many friends in her school, but she never got teased. Until one day……

Page 2:

 Ashiebah was sitting down reading when these two girls Jamie and Samantha were introduced to her class. As Ashiebah was reading her book the two girls came to her and said "Why do you wear that yucky thing on your head?!" Ashiebah just stood quiet then they laughed and walked away.

Page 3:

The next day, Ashiebah arrived at school when all of a sudden she gets a water balloon thrown at her head. Ashiebah turned around crying. She seen the same two new girls Jamie and Samantha. Ashiebah turned back around and ran straight to the bathroom. Ashiebah hid in the bathroom all day. She was afraid that if she came back out everyone would start to tease her.

Page 4:

 Then at the end of the day she finally came out for recess. She sat down all the way in the corner and read her book. Then she noticed Jamie and Samantha  coming over to her. When they got to her they just stood there looking at her. Asheibah looked up slowly and the two girls started laughing and pointing at her.

 "What an ugly scarf!"said Jamie to Samantha

 Asheibah started to cry.

Page 5:

 "Hey LEAVE HER ALONE!" shouted a tiny voice.

 Jamie and Samantha turned around and they saw Alex. Alex is also a girl in Ashiebah’s class. Alex is independent and likes to read. But she isn’t afraid to speak outloud or stand up for herself

"That isn’t funny at all, Ashiebah is wearing that scarf because it’s her religion!" "Who do you guys think you are to be making fun of her ?!"

Then Ashiebah stood up and said,

" Yea i have to wear this because i am not allowed to show my hair to boys, its against my religion." "Can you please stop ... it really hurts my feelings." Jamie and Samantha were shocked to hear Ashiebah say something to them. Then Alex walked next to Ashiebah and told her,

"Don’t worry I don’t think you look weird , I think you look pretty and i actually like your scarf." Then Alex took Ashiebah’s hand and they walked away.

 I did some research on sexual assault . Ofcourse i think its just PLAIN WRONG ! Sexual assault can include child sexual abuse, rape, attempted rape, incest, exhibitionism, voyeurism, obscene phone calls, fondling, and sexual harassment. I have friends that have been sexually assaulted and i have myself. But my experience wasnt as bad as others. I just got chased by a man (not THAT bad,sarcasm). it was kind of scary and i did go to the precinct and file a report . Now i can imagine how much worse things are for other children that have gotten raped or sexually abused. Now a days most kids travel home alone . Its ashame that kids have to feel uncomfortable going home from a long day of school in there neighborhood.
        I watch alot of realistic shows like law and order and NCSI. These shows make me think alot about my surroundings and what to look out for. I like to see these shows especially when a person my age is in it. Usually these shiws are about sexual assault and serious life problems. When these shows are on they arent just for entertainment they are for people to learn about what goes on in the real world and the horrible things people to to one another.
        I dont want to sound all "holy" or anything but we are all brothers and sisters in our world (living in a big house). By this i mean we should treat eachother like so. All the dirty men or women out there , when they attack children ....what do they think? I think they should think if they're nieces and nephews. Or there family members. They should be ashamed of themselves. What does there family think of them? Why do some of them get away with it?

Okay ,well i did some research on hate crimes and i just think its wrong. They way people are treated just because of there life styles . Some people even got killed for that. I think people that dont agree with someones life style should keep it to themselves, i dont think some should be punished for living their life. But apperently there are alot of people in this world that disagree with me.One big thing that people get made fun of about is being a homosexual. Some people think thjat god made us to like the same sex. But some people might not think that is true. And i think that what ever someone chooses is just how they think of it.
Another thing that people are punished for are people that have certain religions that require to dress differently or act differently or speak differently than an average person. I think people should be allowed to dress however they feel or speak however they want to speak (as long as its not negative). Including to the religion , alot of muslim girls get teased because of the head scarf also known as a hijab they wear on their heads. I think those girls shouldnt get teased because number 1, they dont have a choice because there parents make them . Number 2, i think they shouldnt get teased because its against their religion and in their bible it is told that if they sin ; which means they cant show their hair then they will go to hell. So if you arfe reading this and u like to make fun of others because of how they dress or how ever they choose to be then , you should really think about this.

A wrinkle in time

   In a wrinkle in time,I appreciate megs personality because she has different sides to her.I like how she can be immature, yet, mature. She has so many things going on that I can talk about her for hours. She can also be smart, yet, dumb (well as people said). Meg can also be a little bit careless, yet, protective.

   I think meg is" immature, yet, mature" because she does things in a childish way. But she knows why she does it. What I'm saying is, meg does things, like handles situations in a childish way but she does the childish things in actual situation.

   Another reason why I appreciate meg's personality is because she can be "smart, yet, dumb" (as people said). I appreciate that because it shows the reader a lesson " you can't judge someone until you know them. I also appreciate this because even though the book is science fiction it kinda shows "real life" in it aswell. It shows real life because there are a lot of people in our world that judge people just by the way they look,dress or sound.

"Mother to Son"

      "Mother to Son" is a poem written by a famous poet that goes by the name of Lanston hughes. Langston Hughes made this poem with a mother as the narrorater. This poem really makes you think about hard times and how hard it was for people. This poem also makes  you think about the people that got through it and how they are setting a good example for our generation.             This poem is about a mother telling her son all of the struggle she has been through. She also explains to her son how she got through it and how hard it was for her to do that. The mother in the poem tells her son that he is strong too and that he can do the same thing she did. She tells her son "dont you fall now" ,she is telling her son not to give up and to keep going at it just like her.
       At first i thought this poem was about a former slave because the mother is saying "its had tracks and splinters and boarders torn up, and places with no carpet on the floor" since slaves slept in cabins with wooden floors i thought she was a slave. But then i finished reading the poem and it said (1922) and i know that is the time of the great depresion so i realised what the poem was really about.

WoOoOoooW what a difference!!

       In Charlottes web, there are different friendships. Two important friendships i want to point out are Wilbur and Fern's friendship and Charlotte and Wilbur's friendship. There are alot of differences and comparisons between these two friendships,but i want to point out some of them.        One difference was Fern and Wilbur's friendship started with sort of a life and deaths relationship. Fern wanted to keep Wilbur because otherwise he was going to get killed by her father because Wilbur was a "week pig". But Wilbur and Charlottes friendship started off as a lonliness type of start. When Wilbur met Fern she was loving and brave though mostly quiet . But when Wilbur met Charlotte she was out going and didn't hold back. So this automatically mad me predict two different friendships.
      Another difference was how strong the two relationships were . Fern was like a mother to Wilbur and Charlotte was like a best friend . Fern and Wilburs friendship started off with love and care. But Charlotte and Wilbur's friendship started off with greetings and information on eachother (like any other start of a friendship).
      One comparison between these two friendships is even though Fern was more like a mother than Charlotte, Charlotte mad alot of sacrifises for Wilbur aswell as fern.Charlotte helped wilbur through all his problems as a pig on a farm. Fern helped Wilbur with laerning how to be a pig on a farm and getting him to be a pig on a farm .So i think Charlotte and Fern mad Wilbur who he is.
      Another comparison between these friendships were Fern and Charlotte always helped wilbur believe in himself. Wilbur is the type that doesn't think he can do anything.But charlotte and fern help him beileve and see that he can do anything he wants or atleast most of the things he wants to do.
      In conclusion, i realised how much Fern and Charlotte meant to Wilbur .I also realised all of the love and help they gave Wilbur. This made me realise that Wilbur wasn't alone ...ever. And Wilbur was lucky to have these two wonderful friends Fern and Charlotte.
